Quote of September
September is my birthday month and to celebrate I’m giving you a gift: a random quote that has nothing to do whatsoever with t-shirts. I come across inspirational and intriguing quotes all the time. I’m hoping that I’ll remember one per month so that I can share it here.
September’s quote has to do with stars but can be applied to many different things. It’s from Jeannette Walls’ book “The Glass Castle” (highly recommended). I’d love to hear any thoughts that the passage provokes (in the comments section!), here it is:
“Venus was only a planet…and pretty dinky compared to real stars. She looked bigger and brighter because she was much closer than the stars. Poor old Venus didn’t even make her own light, Dad said. She shone only from reflected light. He explained to me that planets glowed because reflected light was constant, and stars twinkled because their light pulsed.
‘I like it anyway,’ I said.”
