Custom T-Shirt Diary 68: Maple Syrup Project 2012

Groundwork Somerville’s annual Maple Syrup Project is coming up! It’s a fantastic event which begins with the tapping of local (no, seriously local: Medford and Somerville) sugar maples. It culminates with a three-day boildown, the process of turning sap into delicious, thick maple syrup.

This year Groundwork held an open design competition for their t-shirt’s main image. Artist Adam Walker submitted the fantastic winning design which is printed over the full back of the t-shirt. On the front left pocket area is the classic Maple Syrup Project leaf (created by Emily Voytek). Well, it’s probably just as useful to check out the pictures:

Who wouldn't enjoy collecting delicious sap?

As expected, there's beautiful artwork on this year's tee. Image by anolobb.

What you’re not able to do with the pictures is feel the long sleeve tees used. And that’s too bad because they are super soft and comfy. Made of spun polyester and ringspun cotton, the tees are quality.

So, mark down the date of the boildown on your calendar, Saturday, March 3rd, 2012.

Here’s to a season full of sweetness (only some of it due to syrup consumption)!
