Gildan is known for making value boxy t-shirts. They’re good quality but not especially stylish. In fact, sometimes people refer to any low-cost boxy t-shirt as “a Gildan”.
But recently Gildan introduced a more fitted t-shirt made out of soft ringspun cotton. They waited years to introduce their ringspun option to screen printers across the world. So how does it stack up compared to the myriad of similar ringspun cotton t-shirt options?
The t-shirt shines in two areas compared to other ringspun tees. It’s the only line which approaches American Apparel’s 43 color options. The Gildan 64000 comes in 28 colors, including 5 beautiful heathers. It’s also on the cheaper side.
Like most ringspun tees, it has great printability on its smooth surface, thanks to tightly knit yarn. A couple of other things to consider: the tee is not made in the USA and it doesn’t have a tear-away neck tag. This makes it more difficult to do the custom screen printing neck tag which gives tees that professional retail look and feel.
Overall, the Gildan 64000 ringspun fitted tee is a decent option. I would mainly recommend using it when looking for a specific tough-to-find color.
